This Is What We Worked For

You made it here.

Not every team does. There are programs that will end their season this week having never had this conversation — because they didn’t get to where you are. You’re here. That means something.

It also means everything changes now. The margin for error gets smaller. The intensity goes up. And the question the postseason asks of every team is: who are you when it actually counts?

Read this passage slowly.

Stand firm. Let nothing move you. Give yourselves fully.

Paul wrote this at the end of a long argument about resurrection — about the fact that what you do matters and is not lost. And his conclusion is: therefore, go all in. Not carefully. Not protected. Fully.

The labor is not in vain. That’s the foundation. What you’ve put into this season — every rep, every film session, every hard conversation, every early morning — it’s not wasted. It’s built something. And now you get to find out what.

The postseason has a way of making teams either tight or free. The tight teams are playing not to lose — protecting what they’ve built, trying not to make mistakes, shrinking in the moment. The free teams are playing to win — going all in on what they’ve prepared, trusting the work, competing without the weight of self-preservation.

You didn’t do all of this to play tight. You did it to play free.

Stand firm. Let nothing move you off your game. Give yourselves fully to what you’ve prepared. The labor is not in vain.

This is a vulnerability question. Don’t force it. But the team that can name what they’re afraid of in the postseason is the team that can release it.
