The Season Arc
This is the last one.
Last regular season game. Last time this group plays together in a regular season context. Whatever else happens from here, this chapter ends today.
So leave nothing in the locker room. Leave nothing on the bench. Leave nothing in your head that should be on the floor.
Read this passage slowly.
I have fought the good fight, I have finished the race, I have kept the faith.
2 Timothy 4:7 — NIVLet that sit for a second before you move.
Paul wrote that near the end of his life. He didn’t say I won every fight. He said I fought the good fight. He didn’t say I was always first. He said I finished the race. He didn’t say I never doubted. He said I kept the faith.
The standard isn’t perfection. It’s completion. Did you give what you had? Did you stay in it? Did you hold to what matters?
That’s the question for today. Not: are you going to play a perfect game? But: are you going to give everything this game deserves?
Leave nothing on the floor. Whatever you have — give it. This group, this day, this game deserves all of it.
The standard isn’t perfection. It’s completion. Did you give what you had?
